Boot Fitting Guide
Fitted correctly, Western Boots could well be the most comfortable footwear you will ever own & should last you many years.
Follow our simple tips below to ensure you get the perfect fit.
Getting the boots on…
Stay Seated
It is much easier to pull on boots when seated. Don’t put your feet in the air!
Use the Loops!
Don’t be afraid to use the loops – don’t be tempted to pull the front or back of the boot – it’s what the loops are for!
Plastic Bags
Still struggling to get your foot down in the boot? Using a thin plastic bag as an extra sock can reduce friction & help the foot in for the first few wears.
The “POP”
If you have the correct size, you should feel a soft, satisfying “POP’ as your foot drops into the boot.
How will I know if they fit (the 3 MUST haves) …??
The Instep
This is the most important part of a boot. The instep of the boot MUST be a snug fit to your feet like a big bear hug . As the leather moulds and stretches to your feet they will be more comfortable.
If the instep creases when walking your boots are too big!
The Toes
You MUST be able to wiggle your toes in the boot!
If you feel your toes are squashed at the toe box, your boots are actually too long & you need a smaller size!
The Heel
The heel MUST slip & raise slightly when you walk. Over time this will reduce as the leather moulds to your feet.
If there is no heel slip your boots are too small!
The Stretch
Please remember traditional leather western boots need time to mould to your feet; it is common for them to stretch ½-1 size from new.
